Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where can I sign up for the Food as Medicine course if I do not want to take it for Continuing Medical Education (CME) or Continuing Education (CE) credit?

OME’s Food as Medicine curriculum is available to users such as medical, physician's assistant/associate, and nursing students, as well as medical residents who are not eligible for Continuing Education credit. Please visit our main website at OnlineMedEd.org to access the non-CE version of our course.

You can access the non-CE courses by clicking on the “OnlineMedEd.org” link at the top of your OnlineMedEdPro dashboard, which will take you to OME’s main website. From there, you can navigate to the non-CE version of Food as Medicine by clicking on the “Nutrition” tab.

Conversely, if you are looking for the CME/CE version of the Food as Medicine curriculum from the OnlineMedEd.org website, visit the Nutrition page, accessible at the middle of the menu bar at the top of the page. Once you are on the Nutrition page, you can find the CE course by clicking on the “Enroll Now” button to the right of Dr. Cat, asking “Are you a medical professional seeking CME/CE credit for Food as Medicine?”

Q: I signed up for one of your courses and am interested in taking the other course. Are discounts extended for purchasing the other course?

Currently, there is not an option to receive a discount on the second course if you’ve already purchased the other. While the bundle certainly offers the complete nutrition curriculum, we acknowledge some customers may only want one module or the other.

Q: I never received an email notification that I have been successfully enrolled in Food as Medicine with a link to begin the course.

Prior to contacting our Customer Success Team, please check your spam filter to ensure it wasn’t routed to that folder. If you cannot find the notification there, please contact our support team at [email protected]

Q: Who do I contact for technical assistance?

Please contact [email protected] for technical assistance or questions about the course. One of our Customer Success Team members will assist you during our business hours, which are Monday – Friday, 10AM – 6PM CST, except for holidays. We aim to respond to every inquiry within 3 business days.

Q: How do I reset my password or email?

To reset your password, click on the “Forgot Password?” link at the lower right corner of your screen. You will be prompted to input the email you signed up for the course with. Once you click “submit,” you will receive password reset instructions in your email inbox.

Q: I can’t see the individual lessons in the course when I log in. How do I access them?

To access lessons, click directly on the lesson to access and see the content/lesson. While you will see the option to click on the chapter heading, this will not display the individual lessons. Clicking on the lesson itself allows you to see its content.

Q: I didn’t complete the course before I logged off. When I log back in, I am not returned to the place where I left off. How do I get back to complete the course?

Rest assured; your progress has been saved!  If you exit the course before you complete it, you will be directed to your personal landing page when you log in again. Click on the course you were in the process of completing. You will then be taken to the beginning of the incomplete portion of the course, from which you can pick up your work.

Q: How do I download PDFs from the course?

Due to copyright infringement concerns, we currently do not permit course PDFs to be downloaded from the course.

Q: Where do I report errors?

If you'd like to report an error regarding a question, content, or anything else on the site, please email us at [email protected] with details of the error.

The only time we share information externally is to let institutions know more about who is using our product in aggregate, e.g., 147 health care practitioners at your hospital have been active in the last month.

Q: I never received acknowledgement of my CME/CE credit. How do I follow up on this to make sure I receive credit?

It can take up to two weeks to process course completion and eligibility for CME/CE credit for a learner.  If you do not receive a certificate within that time frame, please contact [email protected] for assistance.

Q: Does OnlineMedEd provide certification in nutrition?

OnlineMedEd is an adult educational platform created to assist medical students and other health care professionals with their studies and assist them in preparing for board-certified examinations. We do not offer a degree or certification, only information.
